  About  Us

The government tax hammer on housing is not a solution

We are a coalition of concerned professional community builders, property tax professionals and academics advocating for more affordable housing through reduced government costs.
Rising community safety concerns and recent court decisions on Indigenous land claims are also halting homebuilding efforts and creating massive, national economic uncertainty and risks, stalling industrial development, or natural resources projects.

Find examples of proven housing solutions on our website and tell your governments to stop treating current and future homes as bank machines.

Tools to fix the housing crisis

 Home Truths

Let's rally together to end the damaging ideological and tax attacks on homebuilders, owners, and renters that have only worsened our housing challenges!

For too long, foreign buyers, speculators, flippers, investors, short-term rental providers, and homebuilders have been unfairly blamed for our housing affordability issues.

The truth? We haven't built nearly enough homes to keep up with the surge in immigration, as our federal government has finally admitted. That may explain why they abandoned collection of their own "underused housing tax."

BE The Change

  • The federal Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) report studied the impacts of immigration on home prices and rents between 2006 and 2021.  In Canada's larger cities, such as those in BC and Ontario, those "newcomers were responsible for 21 per cent of median home value increases and 13 per cent of median rent increases over the same period."

  • Rather than banning foreign buyers and investors, Canada should welcome them to help finance the building of all the new homes we need for existing and new residents. Everyone needs a place to sleep. We can't do it alone amidst rising supplier costs, inflation, higher interest rates, municipal approval delays, coupled with skilled trades shortages.

We know what isn't working. Finger pointing may feel good but it won't fix a home shortage.

Hear from economic expert Thomas Sowell
  • Seniors, youths, families, workers, students and our homeless deserve a better path, not more of the same failed political approaches and divisive blame games.

  • As famed economist Dr. Thomas Sowell says: “It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”
